DOCERE MEDICAL CENTER

Classically inspired by the work of Michelangelo, the multi-practice office space takes the concept of  the "waiting room" to a new standard.  Docere, meaning, “to teach” , is the underlying mission of the building’s tenants; Private Family-Practice Physician, Plastic Surgeon, Medical Spa, and Salon.

The core concepts are the ideals of teaching health, healing, beauty, and living well, and are inscribed in the four keystones of the illusionary ceiling architecture. A trompe l’ oeil stone frieze is inscribed with the words, “ Turning back the pages in the book of life”, alluding to youth, beauty, wellness and the Libyan Sybil below found holding open the pages of her enormous book.  Interior signage was added as a hand painted detail continuing the classic Italiano theme.  The client's identity design was inspired by the trompe l’ oeil mosaic from the atrium wall.
